How exciting the only Buddhist university in the western world. I recommend simply going to the campus and standing there to feel the vibes. There are now several campuses, but the main one on Arapahoe is well worth a visit--originally in an old elementary school, brick, high ceilings. It's vibrant and aesthetically very pleasing (see if you can peek into... More

This is a small, progressive university which also offers space for speakers and wonderful music. I've heard some great gamelan here

Not only for students, Naropa brings in speaker for the public, ones that aren't exactly mainstream, but interesting people, speaking about interesting topics. Student have a great opportunity to study with some skillful teachers who recognize the contemplative world. The main campus is lovely, and is pleasant to walk around.

If you like solitude and spirituality this is a great place for contemplation. It really gives one a pure sense of eastern philosophy and the meditation room is gripping even to a novice.

Naropa University is a unique school and the campus is lovely. If you want to set up a tour of the Arapahoe campus, call in advance to arrange a visit. If you enjoy contemplative arts, there will be a lot for you to see. Make sure you check out the gardens and the meditation hall if you go!

The Naropa Institute was founded to promote Buddhist principles in a secular world but has become a New Age haven. The curriculum at Naropa is devoted to exploiting the assets (i.e., money) of truly gullible people. Trungpa was not fond of these popular New Age teachings and would be rolling in his grave, had he not been cremated.
