This is a great place to see scenic views for miles around, and down into Boulder. Also, there are photo opportunities everywhere. Worth taking the time to check it out for sure.

We didn't mean to head to Boulder but during our visit to Denver multiple national parks were still closed. Boulder turned out beautiful and this attraction is so underrated. Web searches and trip advisor do not show it as a top attraction. However, we decided...More

Our friends, who live in Colorado, took us here. Amazing views, including seeing the continental divide. The Amphitheater overlook was also excellent. Had a lunch picnic as well.

Realization Point! Do this hike! Sunrise Amphitheater! Check it out! Great place for impromptu cook outs to the organized picnic. The views are stunning. This location never disappoints. Take care on the drive up and down because you will encounter the disrespectful biker crossing the...More

It's a fairly short - but very curvy - drive to the top of Flagstaff Mountain. The road to the summit was closed when we were there but even so the overlook along the way offers spectacular views of Boulder and the surrounding area.

Anybody who's ever spent time in Boulder loves Flagstaff Mountain for a quick way to give out-of-towners a "mountain experience." Once you drive to the top there are plenty of little hikes and spectacular views of Boulder.

I would suggest going during off season or weekdays in the summer. Very popular and crowded on summer weekends.

I was there a week or so ago and there were just tiny patches of snow here and there. The road up there is very windy and steep in spots, but we didn't have any problem in our rental sedan. Our biggest concern were the... More

Camping isn't allowed in Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks area, which is the area Flagstaff is in. If you do a web search for camping near Flagstaff you can find some nearby (though not easily walkable) places.
