We drove the trail in a Ford F150 crew cab on a Sunday afternoon in July and while truck was a little wide and long for the trail we didn't have any issues navigating it. The branches brushed the sides in places and others with...More

I don't know why they named it this, o guess they haven't been to the Alps. It doesn't look anytbing like the Alps, not evenbthe alpine foothills.

This trail had lots of twists and turns, bumps and wonderful sites to see. The wildflowers were an added bonus.

If you are looking for an easy starter trail for off roading that has great views this is your trail. Very easy going with only a few rocky spots here and there. There is a jive picnic area along the route about 7.5 miles into...More

This trail was been extant since the late 19th Century. It is pristine and deserves respect and to be treated well. It is an ideal place to walk your dogs in sun or snow. The elevation is over 8000 feet and can be quite chilly....More

Beautiful views from the trail, forgot binoculars. : ( It was great anyway. Pennsylvania Gulch Road is only for serious off roaders (was white knuckle on PA Gulch Rd!) While on Swiss trail, caught a moose lying in a large puddle. He got up and...More

You will love this trail if you are a nature lover. Scenery for days. The only thing to warn you about are some blind hairpin turns and definitely not for lower stance cars. We have a jeep and drove over quite a few boulders jutting...More

Taking the trail in four wheel gives you a glimpse of what it would have been like by train. The views are spectacular.

This is one of the few trails that are open year-round in the area and is relatively flat. With a lifted jeep it was a fun trail in the snow but wouldn't be a good idea for a small car or a biker if any...More

There is no fee to ride the trail. We had a Honda CRV with all wheel drive and slowly negotiated all the bumps along the way. Just take it easy. I wouldn't do it if there is snow.

Yes you can. There is a lovely picnic area with parking. There is great hiking in the area. The park is where women in the 1900's would take the train too to have a day in the mountains. Very cool place.
