Busy with people on weekends, so parking may be an issue. Free shuttles do take you to the park, so just check on line for departure points etc. We hired B bicycles and cycled to the nearest station, which still meant about 1 mile worth...More

Free parking and shuttle options. The park was very crowded but it was the weekend. Good amount of trails to choose from. We did Royal Arch. Be ready for a workout as there are a lot of steps - and a beautiful view at the...More

This is great and well utilized park where you have to pay for parking at certain times. There are a good choice of hikes for all levels of fitness. We enjoyed the Enchanted Mesa walk - not only easy but also very scenic. I don't...More

Go early in the morning for parking, and before it gets too hot. If you hike the trails near the Flatirons, the first section is uphill and right in the sun. The historic Chautauqua cabins are charming.

What a great place. Hikes for all are available. I've done the Royal Arch hike with my parents (I was a bit faster than they were), as well as the Green Loop? Or something like that. Super fun, super beautiful, definitely an awesome place to...More

We enjoyed walking around the park & the neighborhood. This gets crowded early (even on the weekdays) so get there early.

My 14 year old son's favorite hike. We have been hiking here many times over the past several years and are never disappointed. The views from the top are amazing.

Bears are not a problem here. Mostly bear sightings would be generally harmless brown bears, not the dangerous grizzly bears, and brown bear sightings are rare. But mountain lions are in the vicinity, often spotted in... More

There is a visitors center. I would suggest checking in with the visitors center for most recent wildlife reports. Be safe ... use common sense ... never ever engage a bear if encountered. Read up on what to do if you... More

No, it's about a mile to the top of the flatirons: google "Chautauqua trailhead' and you can find a map with distances. I walked this last Saturday, and it was icy. I wore crampons but many people braved it in sneakers... More
