Hiking at Lory State Park was a highlight on our trip to Fort Collins. We went on a cooler, overcast Thursday. We didn’t run into too many other hikers or cars in the parking lot, but that added to the peace/serenity that I experienced while...More

This state park is very close to Fort Collins. The trails are well maintained for easy hiking/biking down low to more technically advanced going up to and including Arthur’s Rock. Horsetooth Reservoir can also be accessed during day time hours from the east side of...More

This is a 4-square-mile park with long hiking paths (more than 26 miles) and picnic tables. We ate at the Homestead Picnic Area and then went on a nice hike on Well Gulch (2.8 miles) and Overlook (2.4 miles). There is a $8 entry fee...More

I horseback ride here regularly. It's also popular for hiking and mountain biking. Lory has miles of trails and connects with Horsetooth Mountain Park which is a county property.

Trails are in great shape, the landscape is lovely with lots of forest, creeks, meadows and wildflowers, and it's not too crowded like Horsetooth Open Space or RMNP.

We went to Lory State Park over the Thanksgiving day holiday. We hiked down to the Horsetooth Reservoir, which was very easy. There are harder hikes into the foothills.

I kind of want to give Lory a rating of 1, just so more people don't show up. But then I'd be lying and I hate the burden of guilt. This place is phenomenal for hiking, biking, horseback riding, swimming, SUPing, just about anything outdoorsy....More

This is a WONDERFUL place to hike or bike. Great trails, great scenery. One of the paths we took was the Shoreline one, and it was marked "easy", which for the most part was, HOWEVER, at the end part going up to the lake it...More
