We absolutely love the vibe of the Convent. There is always a market or event happening, the community feel of utilising the old historic space is outstanding. You can have a bite at one of the cafes/restaurants or just lie on the grass under the...More

The Abbotsford Convent is incredible. It has over 150 years of history within its walls and today it is recognized as Australia's largest arts precinct. It is only 4 km out of Melbourne's CBD and it boasts city views, breathtaking gothic Victorian buildings, ornate gardens...More

Not up to its usual standard. The steak in the salad and sandwich was tough and tasteless, the corn pattie was gritty and the usually excellent coffee was almost cold.

The grounds are beautifully kept and is peaceful most of the time. Take a slow walk around the perimeter before choosing one of the eateries for a spirit lifting meal.

The place is a knock out, but not for aged or infirmed. The walk in is far too long, no accounting for wheelchairs or people with walking disabilities. As a wedding venue, it's outstanding.. sort of minimal with a religious air, not imposing though, and...More

No accommodation at the Convent. Aparthotel Quest Abbotsford has reasonable prices and is the closest, else it is not far from the central business district of Melbourne.
