One of my favorite places on earth. We love to paddleboard from various locations, and enjoyed hanging at my friend's campsite last summer so we didn't have to "fight" for beach space. Ruedi is truly a mountain treasure.

While killing time waiting to check into our hotel we drove up Frying Pan Creek to Ruedi Reservoir. The drive was lovely with aspens in peak color. It was a lovely place to have lunch.

The drive up the Frying Pan River was scenic and the river was crowded with fly fishermen at every pullout (Friday afternoon). The farms and homes along the river were classic, with trees, lawns and many had river access. The campgrounds at the Reservoir were...More

We HAD been coming here for years and it had been about nine years since our last visit. We were shocked at the prices of the camp spots without electricity, the outrageous fees they charge for any additional vehicle (jeep or boat trailer etc.) and...More

Such wonderful natural beauty. Busy on the weekends. Aspen Yacht Club has beautiful sailboats to see on the reservoir. We went canoeing. Lots of power boats too.

It’s about a 13 mile drive along the Frying Pan river (really more of a mountain stream) from Basalt. There are a lot of pull-outs so that you can get out and enjoy the river. You’ll encounter a LOT of fly fishermen (and women) along...More

The 15 mile drive from downtown Basalt to this reservoir follows the Frying Pan River through red sandstone cliffs terminating at a White River National Forest facility. The lake is very scenic as was the drive.

Drove by for a quick visit. Very beautiful lake with surrounding mountains. Winding drive to get to it, but enjoyable.

I work in Aspen several times a year and try to fish this river every time. Any time of year the fish are biting. Can be crowded at time but plenty of river to fish.

It's a winter wonderland at the Resevoir now. Driving along the Fryingpan river which winds up nearly 15 miles from downtown Basalt, it's time worth taking.

Occasional smoke drift depending on wind direction. Overall, not bad and shouldn't interfere with outdoor activities.
