I visited the museum with my young nephews. The staff went out of their way to explain, include and show the kids the wonderful trains in the collection. The highlight for all was the ride on the train. Thank you to all the staff for...More

The place opens late and closes early and seems to only operate a few hours a week. The staff were surly and distinctly unfriendly. They treated my friends and son visiting from New Zealand very poorly, for no reason other than the staff wanted to...More

Lovely friendly staff, reasonably priced, very interesting if you’re into trains. There’s lots to see and experience. It’s a lovely way to spend an afternoon especially families with young children. The children we saw there had a ball!!

We had a Christmas function with Santa and a large group of kids. The museum volunteers could not do enough for us. From Santa arriving on the steam tram, rides on the tram for the whole group, looking and climbing over old locomotives and carriages,...More

Entry fee of $15 was more than we had expected having read online that it was $10. But we got a great trip down memory lane and a ride on the steam train. Allow about 3- 4 hours to see everything. There are picnic facilities....More

A chance visit yielded a wonderful experience of old trains, the historic preservation of the train roundhouse area within the museum and a great train trip thrown in - all for $ 15! The passion of a range of volunteers maintains one of 3 130...More
