This was one of the worst meals we had in the world. It was like eating dog sh**t! Sour milk for milkshakes and just an overall leftover burger that was laying around served with cold fries. How can you charge people for such sh**t??? The beef tacos tasted like cat food. It's just awful.. And for the price you could make a better meal heated in a microwave. The plates were sent back, not touched. If this is the best that's on offer in Hollywood, then whoever is rating this place so high have never had decent food before!!! Do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Dinner with my son. (Food was lovely by the way) but the service left us both feeling so uncomfortable. Our server didn’t even look at us, and was so robotic and unemotional it actually pissed us off! We were left waiting ages before our finished plates were taken away without her even asking about anything else. So utterly rude.

Worst service ever. I was ignored by the bartender and looked down on when I asked if I could pay in CAD. ignored and glared at by waitresses and actually had to hunt her down to get some food. Worst service I have ever experienced.

May 2015 • Couples
It’s been about a year since Renée (my soul mate, my love, then Fiancée and now Wife) and I lived out one of my life long dreams.
The dream was to relive Rock N Roll History by bar crawling the Sunset Strips Legendary, Historic Rock Clubs. Let’s be honest, the World’s most Legendary, Historic Rock Clubs. On limited time in LA, our plan was to have one beer in as many Clubs as possible.
Starting at Rainbow Bar and Grill then onto; Roxy Theatre, Whisky a Go-Go, Viper Room, Riot House Bar, Saddle Ranch Chop House, Chateau Marmont and Beverly Hills Hotel. For many years, these establishments have been and still are home to the most iconic Musicians and Celebrities the World has ever seen.
At about 2 PM on a beautiful sunny Los Angeles afternoon, my dream finally came to reality as we got out of our taxi and walked into our first stop, the Legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill.
After ordering a cold beer we stood at the bar and looked around the room. In one turn of the head, my appetite for Rock N Roll history was quenched beyond belief with uncountable memories of the World’s most iconic Musicians and Celebrities that called and still call this establishment home. Inside and out, the walls are painted in History.
After swivelling my head left to right with my jaw dropped like a clown at a Show, Renée took my hand and lead me too a table at the back of the room where we could just sit, take it all in and reminisce.
You can feel the past and present alive and living side by side. It’s like Jim Morrison and Elton John could be standing at the bar together, having a drink and sharing stories. This Legendary Rock Bar respects and celebrates its past as much as the present.
As time went by, we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know, all be it briefly, the super friendly staff members including Mikael Senior and Mike Junior.
After being invited to sit with a table of friendly Mexicans, who we had been intrigued by as they were putting salt in their Corona Beer, we found ourselves a few rounds in, many stories and a lot of fun later, with these new found friends.
Time had slipped us completely and we quickly realised that if we don’t get a move on, completing our ambitious bar crawl was out of the question. It was like we had been stuck in an extremely enjoyable, memorable trance.
As we were getting ready to leave, we heard someone yell out “HEY AUSSIE, come over here”. We made our way over to this gentleman who mentioned that he recognised our Australian accents and he kindly invited us to sit down at his table for a chat. We took up the kind offer, introduced one another and shared stories about his travels to Australia with his lovely Wife who had by then joined us.
This beautiful couple then insisted on shouting us a drink, which we tried paying for ourselves, to no avail. We tried to return this kind gesture by shouting a round back, but it was clear that we weren’t about to win this argument, and they so kindly continued to shout. We shared many great stories with one another and Renée and I extremely enjoyed being in the Company of such beautiful people.
As we continued chatting away, a gentleman approached our table with clear intentions of introducing himself to our new friends, who kindly acknowledged him. He went on to discuss a friend of his who has similar business interests in Las Vegas- Bars, Clubs, Events etc., and is aspiring to be like our new found friend who we then found out was commonly known as “The Mayor of LA”. Our friends continued a brief, friendly conversation with the gentleman and in the most humble manner dismissed the accolades.
Once he left we asked the question, so what do you get up to for work? Once again in the most humble manner, we came to learn that our new found friends founded and still own the Sunset Strips most Legendary, Historic Rock Clubs, from Whisky a Go-Go to the Rainbow Bar and Grill and many others over the years such as The Roxy.
This beautiful couple for those of you who haven’t already guessed were, Mario and Scarlett Maglieri. If you don’t recognise these names do yourself a favour and look them up. They are highly regarded by every rock star, celebrity and big name in the Industry.
Soon after this discovery, Mario and Scarlett introduced us to the super friendly staff we had got to know earlier, Mikael Senior and Mike Junior. As it turned out the super friendly staff were none other than, their Son and Grandson.
We continued sharing stories throughout the night. From Mario’s arrival to America, to his earlier job as a Taxi Driver, to how he met the love of his life- the beautiful Scarlett Maglieri, to standing on the door of his Legendary Clubs, to being a driving force behind launching the careers of the Doors, Mötley Crüe and Van Halen, to the Doors being the Whisky’s House Band and even how he once tried to lecture lead singer Jim Morrison about using too many drugs, to no avail.
The stories go on and on, but I have to stop somewhere.
I need to make it very clear here, that my recount gives no justice to the Maglieri’s humble, authentic and normal nature.
Throughout the night we were fortunate enough to meet Marlon Brando’s Grandson and a dear family friend of Bob Geldof’s who were also great.
It’s not hard to understand why the World’s most iconic Musicians and Celebrities have called and still call this establishment home. It is so authentic and down to earth, I’m sure it gives them the chance to be normal again, a great reality check. It’s like they could sit next to anyone, share a drink and a story and not be hassled.
Before the Maglieri’s left, I asked my new found friend one last question. Me: “Mario, if you were to give a young fella like me some words of advice what would they be? Mario: “Sam the Man (as he affectionately named me), you have to know how to treat people, you respect them, you take care of them, but you don’t suffer fools”. This advice needless to say is genius and will live with me for the rest of my life.
After our goodbyes, as Mario was walking out, he requested his head of Security to take care of us and make sure we get home safe. When we left, we were kindly ushered by the Big Fella who true to Mario’s word, stopped the traffic on the Sunset Strip, hailed us a Taxi and sent us safely on our way.
So there we have it! Our ambitious bar crawl started and finished in one spot and I got to live out my lifelong dream in a way that my wildest dreams could never imagine.
To the Maglieri’s, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you, for opening your home to us, for a level of hospitality that is beyond ones imagination, for an authentic experience that no amount of money could buy. You rocked our World and for that we are forever grateful. Rock On!!!
And to the best Wife in the World, Renée, from the very bottom of my heart thank you so much for helping me live out my dream. It wouldn’t have been a dream without you by my side. Love you to pieces.

When visitors come into town, we usually find time to come to the Rainbow. The food is good. Portions are good. It's so much fun to peruse the place, look at pictures, see rock paraphernalia and have a good drink at a very cool bar.

As a music fan, the wife and I had to visit this iconic destination to check it out and visit the Lemmy statue. That part was pretty cool. Wound up eating lunch here and that experience was very disappointing. Both of us had burgers and fries at about a whopping $17 each and the food was not good. I don't know how you ruin a burger but this had no flavor at all and wasn't hot either. Fries were lukewarm. There were very few people there on a Sunday afternoon so I'm not sure how you mess this up but they did. My recommendation is to go visit, check it out, have some drinks and hang out or see a show there. Avoid the food.

Great place with lots of cool photos and memorabilia inside. Been there twice now on visits from Australia and this place with the Lemmy statue are a must for any Motorhead fans and hair band aficionados in LA.

Worst bar I've ever been to. Had our drinks ripped out of our hands at 2:01 from two separate staff members, literally ripped out of our hands. Very rude about it, were given 2-3minutes warning prior that the bar was calling last drinks at 2am. We were making our way out of the bar when the drinks were aggressively taken out of our hands and spilt on the floor/splashed on our feet. Never felt so belittled in our lives, and have been to so many countries in the world. Appalled ++.

Two friends and I booked dinner at the Rainbow to pay homage to all things rock and roll on our way back to Australia from a rock cruise. Went for pre drinks in Lemmy's Bar and then into the dining area for dinner. Such a cool dining room with rainbow lights, booths and all types of rock memorabilia on the walls. Went upstairs after dinner (as a DJ - DJ Will from the rock cruise we were on was playing) and had an amazing night rocking out to music that you would never hear at bars in Australia. Great staff, good beer, drink and food selection. Awesome night and venue.
