Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fun night at the Whiskey. FanHalen was great and the opening bands were also entertaining. We were there for a few hours, we enjoyed food, drinks and bought T-shirts as souvenirs. History and a fun night rolled into one.

Me and my wife wanted to get out and enjoy ourselves for a night. Stumbled across Whiskey to go go. Right from walking in the door we felt welcome being from British Columbia whe had a hoot. We got seated and our waitress was so much more than you could ask for. Awsome hospitality. Talking with the ladies about the different atmosphere in BC and Alberta. Went for a drink or two. Ended up staying the entire nite. Our waitress took the time to sit down with us and have a visit. I can't wait until 2025 to go back. Will definitely spend more than one night. Door men absolutely awsome. Nothing but a breathtaking night.

What a place to go if you are into rock/metal music! First gig in America.. Went to see HED PE and support bands. Excellent venue, friendly staff, good drinks and good food. Top night out. Definitely worth a visit. Would love to return

A must for music lovers, small historical rock club in Hollywood. Have seen several bands here..small but fun place for live shows. Bar with decently priced drinks for Hollywood abd the staff is professional.

Had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music at this venue. There were two cover bands and the second band was definitely very good. The bar kept us well-hydrated.
Overall, good experience and will definitely return for more memories.

As part of our honeymoon in October/November last year, My wife and I stayed in Hollywood for 8 nights, and had a great time.
For me, the highlight was finally experiencing the world famous Whisky A Go Go. Being a fan of all musicians that had once graced the stage here (Doors, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, Van Halen etc) it truly was a dream come true to step in there, down a few Jack Daniels, pinch myself, and then think to myself - I have finally done it, my life is now complete !!!
Highly recommend anyone to go there if in Hollywood, bar staff were ultra friendly, and they took a couple of snaps of us in there, and answered the millions of questions we threw their way.
Planning to go back to USA in 2006, so look out Whisky, wre gonna do it bigger and badder next time round!!
ROCK n ROLL ROTATES THE PLANET !!!!! \m/

I recently visited this place was just passing by with some friends and we decided to check it out to see what all the hype was about. This place is nasty the staff was very rude the security were jerks the only thing good about our visit was a band called Dollar N Change which we became instant fans of this band was awesome! but I would not come to this place again there are much better places in Hollywood to go see live music.

For some reason I've been drawn to this place , I even booked into a hotel near by during our tour of California so I could come here (sad).
It didn't disappoint as the band playing the night I was there The Lazy Stalkers were mental. They were so full of energy and really entertaining. I even got to meet with them and get a photo with them outside after.
The bar itself is a dive, and it wasn't particularly busy (monday night) but the history of this place just seeps from the walls. If you are a huge fan of what this place stands for and the history behind it you must visit. The bar maid was kinda up herself but thats her problem not mine. The door staff were friendly and took a photo of us outside.
Paid $5 c.c.and its $6 for a beer.

A treat for rock and roll fans of all ages. We had a downstairs booth reserved and it was great. Very comfortably sat four of us, the booth is raised so you can see the stage above the standing room only crowd. Upstairs seating along the railing would have been great too with a fantastic view of the stage. Our waitress was very attentive and the bands were great. We saw Randy Holden from Blue Cheer and The Loons. Both were outstanding. The sound system was great. Location, location...Whisky A Go Go!! is a must.

I was so excited to see the Whiskey. I’ve waited 35 years for this, though my husband has been here several times in the past. We both love the history. We wanted a quick drink before dinner and had to pay $20 each to get in the door at 7pm. That was ok if the bands playing get some of our money ...the door
Staff were cool and kind. Once I entered the bar, I was excited to this place ...Jim Morrison, the Doors, X, Hendrix all played and hung out here. We were both bummed almost immediately after trying to get a drink upstairs and downstairs finding that both bartenders gave off a vibe that they were too-cool to be bothered by us. It’s a shame that such an iconic place doesn’t have a bar staff that adds to the vibe and the coolness of the history. Instead they felt tired and jaded. It would have been nice to have a bartender that was excited to be there and share the history of The Whiskey instead of feeling like someone was snubbing us. Bummer.

Is Whiskey a go go open during the day time?

Hola, necesitaría saber cual es la forma más rápida y económica para ir desde Hollywood al Whisky a go go y en general toda la zona de clubs bares y sales como el Roxy, el Troubadour y el Rainbow. Queda alguna parada de metro cerca?

To get a VIP booth, you indicated it was 100.00. Who and how do you reserve this when you arrive
For a 7PM door opens, when should we get in Line
Thanks
Written 25 July 2018
Reserve VIP tickets online, easy. There are only like 4 booths down stairs. They seat 4 people comfortably and are raised a bit to let you see the stage over standing room people. You can reserve two seats or all four booth seats. The show we saw offered a 100.00 bar tab with the reserved table for four. That was nice. Don't forget the upstairs balcony tables, cheaper and a great view, just not as comfortable as those cool red leather booths.

Is there seating inside? I wouldnt want to stand for 3 hours.
Written 28 June 2018
I believe the seating is VIP only, handful of booths.
Small place. And we stood for a few hours, had to keep shifting my weight back and forth.
