I like the views, biking and hiking here. Hot in summer. Not a forested mountain like those of the sierras, but has nice rocky areas and some shelter from the sun

What's not to love about it. I would advise you to head to the top of the mountain and visit the ranger station. They have a video with all the information you need from the mountain's creation down to more modern times. Fascinating! The ranger...More

A great drive up to the top of Mount Diablo, with an improved station at the top which houses the ranger information Unfortunately the Ranger was too busy chatting to a cyclist to even acknowledge my presence. Despite that a great view from the top...More

I love this beautiful open space and I love to take pictures throughout the year of the oak trees and the changing color of the grass (green to brown). Biking, running, hiking, exploring.

Drove to the top of Mt. Diablo and hiked around the summit. Amazing views from 3400 feet of San Francisco, Oakland and surrounding areas. Was a beautiful warm clear day for a drive and hike.

Have driven to the top a few times and it is a good experience. Not very difficult to do and the view from the top is well worth it.

-This might be a great place to walk, hike, picnic. "Sharing" the road is pretty impossible with speeding bikes that don't stop for foot traffic. I won't be back.

This park is mostly a natural park located near the foothills of Mt. Diablo. It is controlled by State of California park rangers, and offers picknicking, swimming, trails for walking, horseback riding, or bike riding.

Nice place to spend 2 to 5 hours with your family and friends. Do not be scared of a small parking lot at the park entry. There is another big reserved one available pretty close to the entry.
