Get great views from up on the east side of the Ukiah valley by climbing up the cow mountain. Usually I take my mountain bike up the valley view trail. From up top Clear Lake can be seen, as well as far in all directions. I'm going back there today.

Great place to take some pics. If its been wet, there are lots of tiny run-offs and little rills running. A beautiful part of the north state.

Many people go up there for the off-road environment and for target practice. I'm told people take their children there for picnics, etc. Personally, I did not find it very family-friendly. Be aware, this is a well used party spot for underage drinkers.

This review is for the Valley View Trail only..We hiked up the trail a couple miles. Its pretty straight up, quite the butt kicker climb. The dirt trail itself needs some major work. Water run off during storms has cut grooves down the middle in a lot of places..It was pretty dry as we haven't had rain in a couple... More

There are so many things to do here. We have hiked, quadded, jeeped and dirt biked up here. Fun trails that are marked with difficulty level.

This BLM land has lots of trails, single track and wider fire trails for both dirt bike riding and ATVs. No fee for access. Great place for all skill levels. No running water, you have to bring your own. There are outhouses in the staging area. Can get very hot in summer.

If you like dirt (dust or mud depending on the season), chaparral, vultures and young men blasted on whatever they can find driving vehicles recklessly, you'll love Cow Mountain. We drove over it once to see if we could get to Lakeport. Probably the dumbest thing my wife and I have ever done. The Mill Creek Lakes and county park... More
