It has been moved ad is no longer where it was. Currently it is sitting on at the bottom of the hill in a dirt parking lot.

This was not what I expected, however, the town is cute and has some nice shops. The Casino in town was actually very nice. We didn't expect to go to it but were told the views from that vantage point were nice.

The Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse is a reproduction of the real lighthouse that is still on Trinidad head. Due to instability of the hillside as well as issues of the area being a native sacred area, the building has been moved down the hill near the...More

The Trinidad Memorial Site has sadly lost it’s charming icon. The Memorial Lighthouse was lifted up and had to be moved to a safer location to protect it from vandals and protesting occupiers earlier this year. The Cher-ae Heights Indian Community came to the rescue...More

When we visited the only lighthouse down by the beach was a replica. It is not in the original location which was a bit disappointing. Beautiful beaches though and nice to walk around town while you’re there.

The Trinidad Head Lite is up the trail from the temporary location of the Memorial Lighthouse. Maybe you’ll discover it next visit.

My children were excited to see one last lighthouse on the coast before driving back east away from the coast. Completely missed the park the first time and no lighthouse just a cement pad.

Sorry you missed it, we are working on informational signage to explain the relocation, and also point out the lighthouse on Trinidad Head.

Seems like a big mistake to move a landmark like the lighthouse and bell. Not sure who thought that was a good idea. We eventually were told that it was moved to a less prominent site at another beach nearby. Not good.

It’s a sad story, but the Memorial relocation is underway - temporarily you can visit the Memorial Lighthouse down by the Harbor. Also visit The Trinidad Head Lite - our second lighthouse up the trail.

The parking lot is shared with a gorgeous public beach, AND at the end of the parking lot is the trailhead for "Trinidad Head Trail" which is fantastic (though it's straight up, so be prepared, and wear good boots if it's been raining in the...More
