Have skied here on and off for many years. I still find it difficult (and challenging) to try to make it up the front entry way (lots of stairs). Slopes and runs are generally a bit better-than-average and the place is not quite as crowded...More

they have a nice main lodge, with decent outdoor seating for nice days. the mountain is spread out, and there is something for everyone. seems to be well suited for families and they also cater to disabled skiers.

I skiied for two days in mid-March, 2018. It was more like winter skiing than spring skiing. I did not hit any of the Black Diamond runs, as I was skiing by myself and I've promised my kids not to over-challenge myself. It was my...More

Went here for a day of skiing. I did not expect it to be great, but after one run, I had enough. Rocks everywhere, and not wanting to ruin my skis, I went to see if I could get a refund. A one day ticket...More

Alpine Meadows Resort is a favorite of locals as a ski area. It is combined with Squaw Valley, the larger more famous area. What sets Alpine apart, is the wide open bowls from intermediate to advanced. There are a half dozen bowls, all spectacular. The...More

This area offers a great view of mountains and plain meadows. Living in a busy crowded city such as Chicago usually does not offer such a great opportunity to just look beyond the horizon and to soak in unaltered nature.

I recommend you to drive through this area on the way to Reno or Carson City or from places uo north to South Tahoe. The landscape is awesome.

Skiing, snow, lifts, the whole package. Enjoyed the day on the slopes. Nice restaurants, warming lodge. Friendly employees and groomed slopes. As I said, the whole package.

Great uncrowded hike away from Lake Tahoe. This trail is moderate, steep in some areas. The lakes are clear and picturous, very inviting for swimming (if you don't mind cold water!). The fresh mountain air and views are amazing. Views include granitic bedrock to volcanic...More
