We did this trail up to Eagle Lake in Oct 2016. It was a great trail for families. The oldest in our party was 68 and the youngest age 5. The trail was well maintained and felt safe. When you get to Eagle Lake I felt like it was magical. Peaceful and beautiful. Hint: Start earlier in the morning to... More

Two families with two 7 years old kids visit Eagle Fall Trail during Christmas holiday (12/26/2016). This is a wonderful place to visit after snow and here are some tips to share: 1. Direction: Go West on HW 89 from South Lake Tahoe city. You will pass various attractions but about 20 min drive, you will reach " Eagle Fall... More

Eagle Falls Trail is located along a scenic drive approximately 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe. It's a simple trailhead with picnic areas. The beautiful pine trees and cool breeze provide a nice alternative to the traffic found in town. Before heading onto Hwy 89 to tour or picnic make sure you bring cash. Many of the parks and trail... The hike up to the falls is easy, wonderful scenery. If you keep going past the falls, ( with a desolation permit of course ) the trail continues to eagle lake. This climb is a little bit harder but not too bad. about a mile or so in, you'll come across a redwood marker post and a trail that goes... More

I am not a very fit person so was little skeptical about the hike . But the hike was easy and very beautiful . The views were gorgeous . We got a lot of pictures - the views looked straight out of post card.

Eagle Falls trail is worth hiking up to. Accessed behind Vikingsholm, the trail runs along the outflow creek before ascending modestly to the middle falls which cascade in front of you. We were there when water flow was abundant.

The trail is well maintained and the views are spectacular. We went with a 4 and 7 year old and they both handled it beautifully. Unfortunately we visited in October and the waterfall was just a trickle but I'm sure in early spring it would be a site to behold.

I was going crazy reading others' reviews when trying to figure out whether I should do this with my 5-year-old. My kid is no hiking prodigy, but he has done some 2-3 mile hikes with hills near our home, so I was willing to give this a shot. However, words such as "strenuous" and "dangerous" in other reviews almost talked... More

We hiked in a light rain which made the rocky ascent a bit tricky, but the lovely views made it worthwhile. The Rubicon Trail at Bliss State Park was even prettier.
