Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came here for my birthday with a party of 8. We got there and the 2 hosts were helping a man buy a bottle of wine, it took a full 5 minutes for them to acknowledge we were there. When we got sat down the host girl left immediately after giving us menus without explaining anything. We sat there for a very long time and I had to actually flag someone down to take our order. We ordered flights the younger male waiter brought out our wine and literally said "you can read the description I'm not going to tell you what to think." What the actual f? So rude.
We started trying the wine and decided to walk around the property. 2 people stayed at the table. When we stepped away another waiter came up to our table with 2 people still sitting and demanded we pay the bill. We still had wine on the table it was clear we were coming back. I paid it to get the waiter to back off, but their system wasn't working and he was like "your cards not working!" It took him a couple of times to get their system to work. It's funny how it took forever to get served but they were on it when it came to pressing us to pay. All around it was the worst service I've ever received at a wine tasting and I'll never be back.

They absolutely welcome dogs. Not so much kids. Kids are not allowed in the premise even though I read about the place being kid friendly before booking. Due to the storm, we were told our horse-riding activity got cancelled. They do not have any place for the kids to hang out during rainy day. Our kids have to wait in the car. Can't enjoy our tasting under such circumstances.

I should have read the review which said “felt like we were taken advantage of”… I felt the same way. $100 for two tastings and no break on that even if you buy a bottle. Wine was OK but not outstanding…. Nice surroundings and tasting room but with so many other places to go it was a let let down - oh well, you live and learn huh?

Stunning with fantastic wines. Bartholomew Estate Winery is a historic site that has been thoughtfully brought back to life. Gorgeous grounds, beautiful park with hiking trails (these are solid and stout hikes, highly recommend), great picnic spots, fabulous wine tasting, delightful staff. This hidden gem in Sonoma Valley is not to be missed.

Recently reopened. Have not tried much tasting just purchased a bottle from outdoor station. Great picnic area to enjoy your purchase. Highlight are the hiking trails around lake. It’s challenging.

Thank you for your kind words! We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience with us and thank you for your wine purchase as well! All profits from wine sales go back to support the non-profit Bartholomew Park we call home - its vineyards, hiking trails, picnic grounds!

BEAUTIFUL outdoor setting! Go for the hike and stay for the wine!
Or go for the wine and enjoy a picnic in the beautiful setting!
Tasting fees are some of the lowest around. We especially enjoyed the Zin Rose`and the Zins.
The winery supports the beautiful parkland open to the public. The hike is moderately challenging...hilly, rocky and worth it!

I did a wine tasting with good friends over Labor Day weekend. The wine, the food and the setting were all spectacular. The woman (I wish I could remember her name!) who lead us through the experience was so lovely and informative. If you choose to get food the vegetarian hummus option was delicious! I highly recommend a visit to Bartholomew if you are one the area!

Gorgeous setting outside surrounded by succulents and trees and views of the vineyard. The wines were really delicious and come from their organic vineyards. The staff is very welcoming and it's very dog friendly too. Great for couples and small groups. The tables are nicely spaced to give you privacy.

We visited for a wine tasting. The outdoor seating area is a delightful setting with tables scattered amongst mulch walkways and succulent beds under live oak trees and beautiful views in every direction. Perfect way to while away and hour or maybe more! There are also hiking trails and picnic tables to enjoy more of the estate if you want.

We went to this winery during a Platypus Wine Tour and had a great time! There was a great entertaining guy who had a thick Italian accent, he kept us entertained with new information about the winery but his accent was so thick it was hard to understand everything lol!
