There is something for everyone here in and around the Plaza. It has a great park equipment for little ones to play on and lot so benches for the adults to watch from. The businesses surrounding the Plaza range from wine tasting to food service to serious shopping opportunities. One could easily spend a few days there.

As the largest town square in the US, open containers allowed during daylight hours, an amazing summer farmers market on Tuesday evenings, lots of shops, restaurants, historic landmarks and wineries with in the block, it is hard to beat.

Sonoma Plaza is where you could spend a few days. Visit the old fort and learn the history of the area. Around the square are lots of great restaurants and shopping. If you come from out of town you will have a great time at the square. On Tuesdays we have the open market. It's lots of fun. However some... More

The city of Sonoma has a lovely park-like plaza in the middle of town. There is an historic theater called the Sebastiani theater on one side (obviously related to the winemakers), and little shops all around, with a park with a playground in the center. We found several nice places to eat (we chose the Sunflower Caffe--see my review), plus... More

We always enjoy taking the grandkids to the park in the middle of the plaza where they can run around, play on the equipment, and feed the ducks. Add some take out lunch from one of the surrounding restaurants in the square and you've got a picnic. Numerous shops surround the park located in the middle of the square. You'll... More

Shopping (clothing stores for both men and women), many restaurants, a book store, home accessories shop, and tasting rooms are all within walking distance around the Plaza. Street parking available.

The Plaza is very quaint and picturesque. We did not spend much time there but did enjoy a stroll through before a dinner reservation nearby. The photos accurately represent it.
