A California soldier, politician and land grant holder, Gen Vallejo guided California's independence from Spain and helped to lead California's early years in the US. His home in Sonoma at the feet of the Mayacamas Mountains is sited at an historic spring. The Victorian home,...More

This is a great place to stretch your legs and get a historic look at early Mexican California life. There is a lot of walking and some stairs but it's a gentle path and stairway. There were not any other tourists while we were there...More

We returned for a visit to General M.G. Vallejo Home. This is an interesting home of a former Mexican governor to visit in the town of Sonoma. We visited in December.

A self guided tour back to the late 19th century. A modest walk from the Plaza. Take an hour to visit the barn, home and out buildings while learning about the Vallejo family. Entrance fee is included with the Sonoma Mission fee.
