Sonoma Valley is the second choice for wine tasting after Napa but better in my opinion. It is not as crowded but is getting more so as the word gets out that the wine is as good and the wine tasting experience is friendlier. However,...More

We stayed in Sonoma for a week. Great relief from the AZ heat. Weather was perfect and our house was gorgeous overlooking a vineyard. Travel around for wine tastings was easy. We did use a driver and that helped. Several good groceries. We definitely plan...More

Went to both Sonoma and Napa valleys. Sonoma has great wineries as well, less traveled, somewhat less commercial. Give it a try as an option.

An excellent stretch of the country. Too bad it has to be so close to San Francisco, which is the polar opposite.

The entire place is covered with vineyards. Making it a very beautiful picturesque place. Lots of vineyards you can stop and have a wine tasting

Gorgeous wineries and scenery galore. Must visit Loxton Wines and meet Chris Loxton. Extremely knowledgable and willing to share what he knows. Great wines as well.

We stayed in an Airbnb just outside the city. Beautiful view of the valley and vineyard next door. Local host with good suggestions for the area. Quiet relaxing option

I definitely recommend the Sonoma area rather that Napa which is just too busy. I can't help with hotels, but Trip Advisor has many suggestions.

Hey there. I've lived in the valley for 40 years and hope I can be of some help here. First of all, there are some really nice wineries with lovely grounds within walking or bicycling distance from the center of Sonoma town... More
