The term “garagistes” originated in Bordeaux in the 1980’s and referred to a group of innovative winemakers who produced exceptional wines in their garages rather than in grand chateaux. Since 1979, we have carried on the garagistes tradition of innovation and excellance in a chateau alternative locale.Taft Street Winery continues in the garagistes traditions to this day, producing limited production, handcrafted wines from select Sonoma County vineyards. Our goals have not changed. We make great wine; make it available at a fair price; and, most of all, have fun in the process.

Stopped by today on our first day in the Russian River Valley for a long weekend of wine tasting and tours. Had read about Taft and have tried some back home, but the ones we tried in at the vineyard were limited runs and much better. I forget the host's name, but she was extremely friendly and helpful. Very informative... More

Stopped here on a sunday afternoon and enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the Bootleg Honeys live. The band was great! Nice shaded area to sit with a bottle of wine and enjoy the music.

Whenever I am in town I visit the Taft Street Winery. They are down the road from were a good friend of mine lives. We have fun tasting the wine and visiting with the people who pour at the winery. They are always friendly and helpful in selecting the wine to taste.

We stopped by recently after visiting a friend working at a winery at the Barlow. We weren't very familiar with the area but we were given a good education by our hostess at our tasting. Nice afternoon stop.

We had a great time tasting wine and chatting with the staff. We did not go on a tour of the facility. Thank you for giving us info on places to visit. We loved the chowder at Spud Point and really enjoyed Bodega bay . Wine was good too.

Great tasting experience; loved the room the grounds and the service! The price point of the wines is VERY reasonable and a great way to get introduced to all the Russian River Valley has to offer. I only wish I had come on a Sunday to enjoy their summer outdoor music series! Be sure to mention if you have a... More

We had a great visit at Taft. We went on a Monday afternoon (tastings are $5 but waived with purchase) and had the place to ourselves. Super friendly staff and good wines. We purchased the Medley and went out back and enjoyed a game of bocce. An intimate and urban setting was a welcomed change from the typical tasting room.... More

Visited here with my friend who is a club member. Nice quiet Friday. It's a fun little winery, founded in a garage in Oakland, they are now in rural Sebastopol in a nice setup. The white wines are nice and light and reasonably priced. Enjoy!

We ended up at Taft Street Winery by mistake (took a wrong turn) but ended up loving the quaint winery. Even though it was about to close for the day, the staff member in the tasting room took the time to tell us the story of the winery and let us go through the entire tasting menu. We took a... More
