We were going on a sunset sail out of Sausalito and decided to stop by for a tour beforehand. I'd heard about the great work the center does, and it was nice to see it first hand. The tour guide spoke enthusiastically about the animals...More

This is a special place that cannot be duplicated just anywhere, and has been built and maintained with great care and love. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a tour in this beautiful setting close to the beach in Marin Headlands.

Great stop off if you have an hour or so to spare. Staff very passionate about what they do and great facilities. There was sadly no tour on our visit day so worthwhile checking that out before you go. Regardless of the lack of tour...More

Lovely place for a stop if you're going past this way anyway but you wouldn't necessarily stay for very long. There weren't many patients visible when we went which is of course a good thing in general but a bit disappointing for our kids who...More

We took a 45 minute guided tour. Our docent was excellent. The facility was beautifully maintained and spotless. The mission is admirable and it was no surprise to learn they have over 1,000 volunteers. We went on a Saturday. The Center was not crowded, but...More

If you can make one of the tours, this is an interesting place to visit. Like the Turtle Hospital in FL, this institution is carrying out very useful recovery work for sea life. It is worth supporting through your visit.

Expensive to cab there and you need a car or ubber to get there. I came from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge.

It is definitely a car ride. From the Bay, across 101, through a tunnel, and then come out on the Pacific Ocean.

I would allow a couple of hours for the tour - you can always head down to the nearby beach if they get bored!
