We stopped in the visitors center to grab a map because we could not figure out how to get to the lighthouse. They had maps on several National Parks and the local area which were very helpful and a sweet woman who was giving directions.

This is a small/tiny museum but it is packed with history and well worth a 15 minute aside. Blink and you will miss it.

We reached Sausalito in the morning and pretty interested to cover the major attractions. Visitor center guide helped us with the map explaining the must see places and how to reach each point. Appreciate the help. Must visit!!!

Very helpful. Gave us all the information we needed before we even had to ask. Friendly and efficient. I wish all visitor centre's around the world were so good. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Lots to do across the bay from San Francisco and the Visitor's Center is a great place to start. Friendly folks with lots of brochures, pamphlets, maps and up to date information. You'll plan out your trip right with minimal zig zags and backtracking. ...

Lovely little village, very popular and crowded, had the best sandwiches at the Bakery for lunch. BLT and Chicken Pesto both excellent.

A cute, relaxing, slightly pretentious getaway from San Francisco. We biked across the bridge and did the "bike valet". Restaurant selection can be limited and many places only take cash (there are a Bank of America and a few other ATMs around). If taking a...More

Decided to go to Sausalito when in San Fran as my sister had been there before and said it was nice. It is easy enough to get to/back by ferry, either from main ferry terminal or further up on pier 39, where the fares seem...More

You would be better off renting bicycles and riding across the bridge. The bridge is no short walk. Then you would still need to walk further to get to Sausilito and then have the energy to walk around and enjoy yourself and... More
