We came specifically for the Cheetah Conservation Fund dinner and fundraiser and stayed in one of the wonderful tent arrangements! Thoroughly enjoyed our Guided tour with Colby and spent quite a bit of time with the animals!

What a great concept with the tents, tours and food. Our kids and grandkids had a grand time touring Safari West. Our guides were engaging. Best was the questions our grandkids asked and how much they knew about the animals. This is a great overnight...More

For my mom’s 60th birthday we did “Zookeeper for a Day”. The day started with filling grain buckets and loading hay. Next we were off to feed the warthogs, rhinos, giraffe, kudu, ostrich and other African hoof stock. We were climbing in and out of...More

We went to Safari West during my son's winter break from school. He's 5. I thought maybe he was a little too young for it, but the first week back to school, they started learning the letter "G," and wouldn't you know it, he had...More

Eight of us visited Safari West during the holidays. From grandparents to kids to grandkids, everyone had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. Riding around in the special 'safari vehicle' was fun, especially sitting up top for excellent views.

We had a terrific tour guide, Ann, who was so much fun and gave us so much insight to the animals' behavior as we were watching them. The staff clearly care very much for their animals, and the whole experience was amazing and educational, and...More

This place is the best. It’s expensive but worth it. Note that thanks to the 2017 fires there’s not much restaurant wise close by so buying the meal may be a good idea.

We took afternoon safari tour and it was so much fun. All the animals and birds were so beautiful which made every penny worth. Would love to go again!

I had a giraffe put its head in my lap!! Can't promise that to everyone, but even had that not happened, the "expedition" was a great adventure. A Jeep-type ride past pastures of wild animals, some close, some at a distance. I did it solo,...More

Safari West is a magical place. Closest I may get to Africa. The animals are exotic and well cared for. We spent two nights “camping” well glamping was more like it. I highly recommend it.

We went in the summer and it was on the cool side. December will be cold. The Safari vehicles you ride in are open with no closed windows. I know they have private tours and I think it was in SUVs or cars. You might... More

We stayed in a one room cabin that was very comfortable. They are not fancy accommodations but they are clean and roomy. Do not know much about the cottages. I am thinking they would be nice to stay in.

No, not at all. It just licked the perimeter but nothing happened in the park and all animals were safe. There is no fire damage in the park.
