A good wine, vinyl albums, a good companion, an old favorite story or flick, often improve with age. And the same holds true with the Nick: more in tune with Casablanca than with Star Wars, more imbued with humane relationships than with techno brillance, if...More

Nickelodeon is a cool, local favorite and features the independent-type movies that are commonly favorites of critics. You have to go down the street for the blockbuster movies.

My wife and I like to see the art films at the Nickelodeon. It is small and somewhat quirky, but worth the drive from Los Gatos to see some great art films.

Small quaint theatre fresh popcorn. We've been going to this theatre for 25 years. They always have interesting movies and fresh buttered popcorn. I would recommend this place, always a pleasure.

This is the last remaining movie theater in Santa Cruz That has been here since the 70's. It still retains some of the vibe from that time...and a different time it was. No Hollywood blockbusters on offer here. You can see them around the block...More

This place is such a gem. As a documentary buff, I'm always pleased with their selection of non-hollywood doc's and indie films. The staff is awesome and the snacks are actually reasonably priced. They even have some healthy options!

If you live in Santa Cruz or are visiting and like movies, this place is a must. A small theater that caters to the few that like non-mainstream movies. Do not expect anything fancy. Just be wowed by the selection of arthouse cinema. A must.

Mostly, I see old and older people here. That's because it tends toward thoughtful movies, not CGI and car crashes. Staff comes in prior to shows and the audience can get sound and heat levels adjusted. Plus, the theater has some decent food and desserts....More

Nickelodeon offers 5 (or was it 6) tiny theaters, each with one of the current independent, foreign or art films. We went to see Ladybird, a touching film of a high school senior in Sacramento California. The theaters are tiny (possibly 50 seats) and they...More
