We rode the main steam engine and my boys loved it. My oldest is 5 but I would imagine a 7 year old would like it too.

I checked with my sources and found that you could ride both in the same day if you start in Felton first, ride the Bear Mt loop and then ride to Santa Cruz and back to Felton. These trains each have a different vibe.
