Families will enjoy the UCSC Arboretum. Energetic and curious youngsters will find plenty to keep them busy. Our two, 7 and 5, happily examined the many lizards, gleefully spotting rabbits and tiny toads. Of special interest are the South Africa and Australia botanical gardens, which...More

Well, I guess I am spoiled by the arboretum at Golden Gate park where almost everything is labeled and the paths clearly marked. Here at the UCSC Arboretum you are basically meandering through bushes and trees, hoping you are not totally lost. I enjoyed myself...More

Visited the Arboretum when I have a mid afternoon break from working around the house. Perfect day. What a joy to walk through this arboretum. Great hummingbird spot. Each section was better than the previous one. Will definitely go again. Can't wait.

Few people for a large area. Theme areas for South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Take your time, keep on the lookout and you'll see plenty of fauna with your flora.

Great stop off during drive from San Francisco to Monterey. Hummingbirds everywhere plus great view of a hawk and quail. Staff friendly and helpful.

A trip to UCSC Arboretum offers one an excellent view of the Monterey Bay, a great selection of Proteas, and if you are lucky many hummingbirds. Small fee for parking.
