Very interesting, small museum - worth a visit!

Kids and adults really enjoyed the exhibits. The blue whale skeleton is great to see, as were the tanks.

Lots of interesting information about whales. Definitely go on the tour. Totally worth it because the tour is free. The thing to know is that they are undergoing major remodeling and all the live exhibits have been moved off-site.

This place is not touristy but is actually a research facility and so interesting! Definitely take the tour. Dale, our docent, was so knowledgeable and made the learning process enjoyable. I learned so much about the Blue Whale as well as lots about the history of the area and other marine life. And I got to see my favorite --... More

I learned about starfish in particular because the docent was very informative. The displays are well labelled and young people appropriate. Some upgrading is in progress.

The center was a little precarious to get to due to construction, but worth it. Eat before you go as there are no restaurants close by and the only good they have are granola bars. Very informative exhibits on sea otters and peregrine falcons. Some interesting live exhibits on crabs and native fish. My daughter spent a lot of time... More

Nothing like it! Find out how the fish, crustaceans and more manage to make their happy home in this space! Also don't forget to focus on really small critters!

displays of general bay information along with interesting research being done by UCSC marine biology department. it's a relatively small facility compared to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Doing both locations is ok too.

If your looking for a place to take the family, not take all day and really be educated... this is a great experience. Well thought out design for encouraging guests to learn, explore and touchy feely marine life. Also, very affordable.
