Overview
More
The Mystery Spot is a gravitational anomaly located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz, California. It is a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter. Within the Mystery Spot you will be stunned as your perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned. But don't take our word for it, come and decide for yourself! The Mystery Spot was discovered in 1939 by a group of surveyors and opened to the public in 1940. The Mystery Spot has amazed and perplexed hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world, and many return time and time again to experience these puzzling variations of gravity, perspective, and height. Some speculate that cones of metal were secretly brought here and buried in our earth as guidance systems for their spacecraft. Some think that it is in fact the spacecraft itself buried deep within the ground. Other theories include carbon dioxide permeating from the earth, a hole in the ozone layer, a magma vortex, the highest dielectric biocosmic radiation known anywhere in the world, and radiesthesia. Whatever the cause is, it remains a mystery.

The Mystery Spot is no fake attraction. There is really some odd magnetic occurrence right there. You can feel it in your head as you take the tour. When we came back to our car, the newly installed electronic radio in it had been completely...More

I've been there a few times already to bring some visitors. It's a short visit but it's worth the just 8$ you must pay. The environment is great surrounded by redwoods and the "mystery" spot is fun no matter what causes this phenomenon. It is...More

Had a great time playing in the cabin. A must see at least once if you are in the area Recommend getting tickets on line to save some time and reserve your slot, especially on the weekends. Otherwise wait time could be 1-2 hrs

This place is a true mystery... and was very cool. We had fun and our tour guide was great! I am not sure what causes this mystery but I would recommend it especially with kids (not small ones).

You will be amazed by what you see, and better yet you will enjoy the presentation. Pay attention to your tour guide, they have plenty of jokes!

Your 4.5 Y.O. should like it. The optical illusions are fun and it's not expensive. You can take a hike too.

I agree with the other people who responded in regards to your dog. I don't agree with the 'total ripoff'. It's just something fun to do, and I have spent the same amount of money for a 2 minute quick thrill (with an hour... More
