Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We have been to the Arlington Theater countless times to see concerts, talks/discussions/forums, comedy, movies, all types of entertainment and last night was absolutely terrible and unacceptable!!
Kevin Hart was the main act and I couldn’t get ANY of the punch lines. A complete and total waste of money and left me bitter and mad!!
The 1st 2 acts were even worse with people yelling at mixer people to fix the sound.
This was not just me. I saw dozens of couples leave during the show and it wasn’t the material. He is known for lots of f-bombing but the show was mostly clean and good (per my wife who understood some of the words)
I was my money back !! So disappointed!!

We took a day- trip to SB. One of the activities we planned to do was to watch a silent film at Arlington Theater.
First of all the theater is beautiful. It had the old theater charm.
Second the organ that accompanied the silent film was a gorgeous piece.
It was fun to enjoy a well-made silent film in a historic theater.
Fun afternoon!

This is truly a unique venue. From the minute you walk up to the theater you get the "old school" vibe with a real ticket booth. From there the walk to the theater has many sights to see. There is a second place to buy tickets right outside the front doors. The inside of the theater is made to look like you are sitting under the stars in a Spanish village. Look closely and you will see that even some of the shadows are painted on. Not the most comfortable theaters, no stadium seating and no cup holders. I have been to a few concerts where the front row of seats have actually been torn off their foundation (it wasn't me!!). Lots of great memories here (Concerts, Movie premiers, Film Festivals, symphonies). If you ask nicely they will let you browse the inside of the theater without buying tickets for the movie that is playing.

Imagine watching a 21st century special effects blockbuster in the square of an 18th century Spanish village. Then experience it at the Arlington. Growing up in SB, movies and concerts at the Arlington were always a wonder....they still are today.
I don't care what is going on there, buy a ticket! Even if the movie or show is a bomb, the building is a superstar.

Saw Chicago in concert with business guests while at a meeting here in Santa Barbara.
Seeing the concert at this venue was great. Great seating, sound & very comfortable. Beats a big facility location with charm and atmosphere. Try it if you get a chance!

The building is great, very neat inside. The seats are not great however. The concessions were very limited. I would still see some big performance there, but it wouldn't be at the top of my list.

The Arlington Theatre is just a beautiful building to see a performance especially in the evening. It feels so magical like you're being transported back in time.
One draw back is the small lobby. When people start coming in at the same time, it gets chaotic and very tight. You will either need to get there earlier so that you can go to the restroom quickly which is on one side of the theatre or you will feel as if you are going against the tide trying to reach the other side to the restroom.

My mom insisted on taking me to this theater during my visit telling me how much I'd love it and raving about its old spanish style and beautiful architecture, and she was absolutely right! A gorgeous, elegant, and historic theater. Even up above, you have a starry night painted and lit up above your seats. Everything about this theater is unique, including the old town spanish style building facade that flank the right and left sides of the theater--balconies and all--and beautiful chandeliers throughout. It's a theater experience unlike any other. A must-see for all SB visitors!

This theater is something to experience for sure. It looks like its taken straight out of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Very cool.
My family and I went to see the latest Mission Impossible movie. Impressed upon walking into the theater but.....
when I went to sit down I was appalled at how filthy the seats were. I know its an old place, but it just really grossed me out. I had to get up and put napkins all over my seat and then sit back down. Yuck.
Anyway, hopefully they are in between seat cleanings because it is a nice place to see a movie. Once, at least.

Where else can you go to a beautifully restored old theatre that looks like you are sitting in the courtyard of a gracious Spanish hacienda looking up at the stars in the sky while you watch the organ rise from under the stage. Don't miss it!

Arlington Theater sells tickets the old fashion way through a ticket booth. You need to get there and get in line .. :)
