Loved this first time visit here and was pleasantly surprised at the rich history of Santa Barbara. Did not realize the impact of the Indians from here or the seafaring and underwater milestones developed here.

The new lighthouse exhibit is wonderful! I love to go "fishing" with the interactive fishing experience too! You will learn so much about Santa Barbara's rich maritime history by spending a couple of hours at this museum. Well worth the price of admission!

Hi, This sounds like you were at the Santa Barbara Sea Center, which is located on Stearns Wharf, and not the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, which is on the Breakwater in the Harbor. Greg Gorga

Purchase tickets in the gift shop before entering the museum. The gentleman taking tickets was very welcoming and explained a map of the museum. Allow an hour for viewing and don't forget that there is a second floor.
