Just really cool to see the elephant seals! We watched the males fighting in the water and on the beach. We had our dogs with us so we didn't get to close.

It was a pleasant surprise as we were early for Hearst castle and drove a few miles further north while we waited. We witnessed 50+ wild elephant seals of all ages lounging on the sand. Highly recommend it, especially for kids.

Yes ground is flat. The only area that may be of concern is the gravel parking area. There a lot of pot holes but if you park close to water front or entrance you should be ok.
