Great parking and safe beach that is protected and easy place to keep an eye on kids. Weather is better there than if you continue up the coast

Overall, a fine state park that is ~15-20 minute drive to Hearst Castle. Lots of trees in the park was a nice positive. However, those trees made it hard to park the RV (because they made the spaces tight). At least that was the case...More

The hospitality we recieved from Harry and Janet was top of the line. Very nice people, genuinely caring and extremely helpful. Anyone camping here is lucky to have them around. Please buy their firewood its great.;)

The elephant seal rookery is just 15-20 mins’ drive away from Cambria’s Moonstone Beach. Our family enjoyed watching the elephant seals lounging on the beach. It’s a serene and beautiful place to just be close to nature.

We had made online reservations for this state park with no hook-ups. We thought we had reserved a specific site but later found out that we had been assigned a different one. We ended up finding a vacant site and stayed for two days. An...More

You stand a better chance if you make a reservation at least 6months ahead of time. There is a possibility of" same day" being available due to cancellations.
