We took a tour to visit the property and we really thought it to be worth while took the mansion tour. There is a lot to see at this property so decide on your tour carefully since no one spot is repeated. The night tour is amazing and requires much advance booking at times. Travel back in time with some... More

I took my first tour of Hearst Castle two years ago. This time I took the tour of the upstairs rooms. This is a small tour of about 15 people because the rooms are generally small. We did not have reservations, but were able to get a tour within a few minutes of arrival around 10 am on Sunday. The... More

Fabulous! We did three separate tours, which was a bit tiring and made for a long day there (5 to 6 hours), but each tour was wonderful. A friend had also recommended the evening tour, but this was not available when we were there. The guides are knowledgeable and entertaining. The whole property is just awe inspiring. This place is amazing and I can not begin to describe with words how you feel when you walk up to finally see what Mr. Hearst built here in the 20 or so years it took to complete (which it still is not finished to this date). We did the upstairs rooms tour, but would have probably bought the grand... More

We decided to visit the Hearst Castle on our PCH drive. It was a nice slight detour along the way. I wish I was more familiar with the Castle prior to visiting, I think it would have made it more interesting. The iconic pool was closed for renovations and has been for a couple years it sounds.

It was wet and foggy as we continued north on Hwy1, knowing that not far ahead, the road was closed for about 60 miles because of mud slides. So before turning around and heading back south, we felt we really should make this visit to Hearst Castle, despite the fog and the fact that it was now 3.30pm and very... More

While I have been wanting to got to Hearst Castle for some time, I was expecting a bit more out of the tour. Spent $25 per person to do the Grand tour which was a bus ride, a quick jaunt through the main floor and little else. It seemed as if the guide was coached to give very brief info... More

Went to Hearst Castle and hard to believe this was completed in the 1930's. The road going to the castle was a marvel by its self. The castle was unbelievable, I spoke to one of the tour guides that indicated at the time it cost six million roughly to build and three million to furnish. Defiantly worth going to unbelievable

After leaving Malibu we continued up Route 1 via Pismo Beach, with a very brief stop at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, then through Morro Bay to Cambria and Hearst Castle. We'd booked the 12 noon Grand Rooms tour, which was well worth the $50 for the two of us. We parked at the visitor center then took... More

This adventure was on my Husbands bucket list and it was everything we expected plus more. We did the Grand Rooms tour and then explored the grounds, which were so Beautiful. So much history. We will be back some day to do some more tours.
