On advise from a friend, my family planned a tour of this facility-the only government building Frank Lloyd Wright designed. We signed up for the very reasonably priced docent tour. Well worth the fee. There are many displays throughout the building so you can go...More

This is an awesome place to visit in Marin County! I recommend just hanging around the center, just looking for something to do, does not matter the activity really! Enjoy!

This is a great FREE tour of the Civic Center, especially if you get Ted (docent) to lead the tour! The tour is offered Wednesday and Friday at 1030. Areas that you would not be able to see on your own are on the tour....More

Great building for architect fans. Still quite functional, even with some modern safety and commerce changes. One of his many magnificent structures, great details. Marvelous!

The Marin Civic Center in San Rafael, the gorgeous building spotlighted in the science fiction film Gattaca (1997), has docents available for touring the Wright's largest public project. A friend and I loved the docent's knowledge about not just the civic center, but about the...More

We didn’t get a tour as it was closed for the long weekend. The Civic Center park is lovely (watch the poop from the geese). Love Frank Lloyd Wright. Still good viewing from outside

One of the last projects FLW worked on, which was "completed" after his death. Beyond just architecture that reflects and integrates with its natural surroundings, the Marin County Civic Center is FLW's complete vision of a community hub complex. It's well worth a stop to...More

This building is amazing! It was fun just to walk up and down the halls on all 3 main floors. Don’t miss the library - small but interesting pure FLW design. We missed seeing a courtroom, but have heard they are fun to see too....More
