About
Vino Vargas produces award-winning, single vineyard wines hand-crafted to achieve a balance that will delight your palate. Take in the majestic views of the Paso Robles hills and westside vineyards from the terrace while sipping a glass of your favorite wine from the list that includes sparkling, white, red, and dessert wines. As part of your tasting experience, guided by either the winemaker Pedro Vargas or sommelier Vicky Vargas, you will learn each wine’s unique name and story that will enhance your appreciation of them. The Paso Doble sparkling wines are made by hand in the winery using Methode Champenoise, in the tradition of Champagne, to be Brut dry and delicious. The collection of wines includes Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, red wine blends based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre, Syrah, and Grenache, as well as rose wines and white wines made with Chardonnay and Albariño. The winery is located just 2 miles from Highway 101 about 8 miles north of Paso Robles.

We really enjoyed our visit to Vino Vargas Winery. The setting/view is beautiful and the wines very tasty.

Pedro the winemaker is very knowledgeable as well as very personable. It is very evident when speaking with him that he takes much pride in his wines.

We found our visit very enjoyable and highly recommend making an appointment to visit.

Vino Vargas proved a small boutique winery with an unusually broad selection of truly remarkable, extraordinary wines.

Pedro Vargas, the winemaker, has the education and experience to produce wines that truly respect the grape properties in each and every varietal. He sources his grapes from optimal growers, and specializes in making small boutique batches.

His tasting selection of 12 very different wines was exceptional. Most of them were the best I have tasted in a long while; if ever! A MOST IMPORTANT FIND.

The winery is situated on a hillside, providing 180 degree views of rolling wine country. His wife, Vicky, is a certified sommelier (and his "harshest" critic.)

What a truly remarkable tasting experience. We will return very soon. In fact, he even has select accommodation for club members, naturally often fully booked..

Stopped by to see Pedro and Vicki. Had a chance to understand the wine making process. They are gracious hosts.

I had visited last year and again this year during the wine festival in Paso Robles. Last year we had Pedro serve us and this year we had his wife Vicky. Both are very knowledgeable and extremely enthusiastic.
The white dessert wine is incredible - of course we had to buy a few bottles of it!
The area around here is beautiful.

On my way south to visit friends., I decided to stop at a winery I knew little about. It is located just 2 miles west of US 101 in San Miguel. I was warmly greeted by owner and winemaker Pedro who introduced me to very extensive lineup of wines he produced. Pedro is very knowledgeable and displays his enthusiasm in his work. His background comes from years working in the Santa Clara valley area. Now he has his own entity to run. He is normally open by reservation only but during major Paso Robles events the hours may be more extensive.
