This was a beautiful and historic place. The museum was lovely as is the church. Worth a visit! Mass is said every day. You can just visit though and do a self guided tour or a docent tour. We really enjoyed it. The buildings and...More

We arrived just before it was closing but we were treated warmly and invited to look around. There was a nice museum and gift shop and we could enter the sanctuary. The grounds were smaller than many missions we have visited. If you're in the...More

I love visiting the California missions. This one is located in downtown SLO. Metered parking on the street. Well maintained and interesting to go inside the chapel. Museum and gift shop are also on the premises. Good for a quick visit while in the downtown...More

This is one of the best Missions we've been to. Very well kept, cheap admission. Easy to have a picnic lunch there too.

The mission was pretty. Like so many other California Missions it needed to be rebuilt. The grounds were lovely.

The Mission in SLO is a beautiful Spanish Colonial church. It was founded in the 1700s, and is located in a lovely downtown area. Wonderful for a stroll on the grounds.

the fanciest Mission church we've seen yet (out of 4) with the largest museum. In the middle of San Luis Obispo, within easy walking distance of most downtown businesses.

We have visited many of California's missions, but the tour given by Hank, a retired teacher, 74, was an illuminating tour and lecture, including a visit to the bell tower. He is a bell ringer and could explain so much about the bells from origen...More

On a road trip from San Francisco to LA, this is the second mission we have visited and it is a very lovely one. There was no entrance fee although there is a suggested donation box. If you’re driving through, stop and have a look.
