Great hiking!

Some ascents are pretty steep, but this old park is full of wild life and spectacular views. If you enjoy mountains, this place will satisfy.

Lovely stroll through this quaint park. Nice playground, great picnic areas that you can reserve. The trail we took from around the Visitors area was nice but paved most of the way so it wasn't a deep nature hike but the surrounding scenery was lovely. Highly recommended for a Sunday stroll with tots especially if you want to walk with... More

First, the negatives. Go to the park website (http://www.sanjoseca.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Alum-Rock-Park-176) before you make the trip. I just assumed that parks were generally open from sunrise to sunset, as seems the usual custom where I live. However, this park is closed every Monday (the first day I tried to visit). It also claims to close at 6 p.m. or "one half hour... More

We took a nice hike around the springs. Several were still running and others were dried up from the drought. We went into the education center and learned about the local fauna. It is a very popular park.

This has to be one of my new favorite places to hike. I did the north rim, eagle rock, and the trail along the creek. You could spend a whole day here. It is really beautiful and super clean. Not overly crowded on the trails either so you definitely can find peace and quiet.

This is a nice quiet place to go. We have bbq, had birthday party here and hiked many of the trails. Trails nicely kept and people there so friendly. The park is well kept. Bathrooms are very messy.

If you're looking for a good workout, Eagle Rock is the place for you. There are many different trails. This is rugged, outdoor country and there are snakes. I wouldn't advise going alone and if you've never been there, and we had not, it's easy to get lost. We both really enjoyed this, but you do need to be in... More

I hike here often since I can walk to the Park form my home. It's a great place to explore with a variety of trails. You can even take a long one and end up at Joseph Ranch Park. It's a county park and sponsors a host of summer activities for the kids. So get them out there parents! There... More

Parking is inadequate and relegated to the shoulder of a narrow single lane road, but once you settle that and enter the park it is a nice area to just walk and explore nature. There are benches and deer and enough space to clear your mind and pass the time. Not enough restrooms or access to drinking water, so be... More
