It is an excellent place to hike. Lot of nature. Plenty of flora and fauna. Ample parking spaces. Overall great place to hike over a weekend morning.

Alum Rock Park is a fun place to visit. Located in the foothills, it has many places to visit. Also good for hiking. The Nature Center is a good place to take young (and not so young) children.

I was looking forward to having a quick stroll in the park but the roads through the park area were inexplicably closed and so I just had a walk around the lower edges of the park. Next time I'll leave more time to hike up.
