Family of four visiting San Jose during the month of October 2016. It was $50 per person, so not a cheap tour. We opted for the "scary" candlelight tour, but apparently it's just about the same tour as every time else. We were hoping to get a lot of history and background on the house, but we did not. The... This was my third time taking the tour and I brought my niece and nephew. They really enjoyed the tour and exploring the house. The tour seems to have changed from the first time I was here so it was an enjoyable experience. If you can avoid taking the last tour, you get rushed out of the store pretty quickly... More

Beautifully maintained Victorian Mansion and grounds. A great piece of California history. Fun tours, we were on the complete package tour as we really enjoyed seeing the "behind the scenes" part too. Not spooky, just a look a a very lonely grieving lady who was truly ahead of her time in many of her home's comforts and was a kind... More

Ok, this is kinda a cool thing. It is a bizzare, massive mansion with weird design features, stairwells to nowehere etc..... You can do the mansion tour for an hour which takes you through the house and then a separate in depth tour of the servant quarters etc... Can be kinda fun for kids as well as it is just... More

Took a group including (3) kids; took both the house tour and the grounds tour. The guide for the house was newer, so they did not have as many 'stories' as did the grounds tour guide - who has been there for over a decade. A little pricey, but an entertaining 2-3 hours. The kids enjoyed the Rifle Museum and... More

There are not so much attractions in San Jose, but this belongs to the top 5! We had a great time there, our tour guide was amazing, he was wearing traditional costume from the vistorian period and he provided us great information about the history and place itself. It is nice but strange place, some say, taht there are still... More

We took the Mansion Tour with 3 kids ages 6, 11, and 16. By far the 11 enjoyed it the most. Overall, great tour (very good guide named Yvette). 📌 tickets: we bought our tickets online so no need to wait in line at all once you get there - just head to the courtyard after going through the gift... My boyfriend and I were in San Francisco for two days and went to San Jose for an NFL game and yet the Winchester Mystery House was the highlight and talking point of our trip! The house has wonderful and very knowledgeable guides and employees who are working very hard to restore parts of the house and maintain the integrity... More

Probably not too fun for kids. The tour takes 1-2 hours and takes you all around the house. Very interesting and the story is kinda cool. Got pretty boring towards the end cause i didn't care much for it.

Though a bit pricey, this beautiful mansion is a great stop for anyone who loves turn of the century architecture. We took the standard tour. The guide was very knowledgeable. And the house is fascinating. I wish we had more time there to explore the gardens and the extensive gift store. But I guess we'll have to come back, and... More
