it all depends on the tour, date, time.......the candle light tour was sold out weeks ahead, but that is only done at halloween time. but, on a saturday or certain events, it is just easy to buy online.

Try Groupon or the VisitSantaClara website, both offer discounts. The parking, gift shop, little museum, and snack bar area all have free access.
