Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is so convenient that this place is a mile from our home. Oddly located in a business park, but awesome low key vibe. Tasty IPAs and other brews. Different food truck option daily. Great stop after a long walk or bike ride to the beach. Cheers

We were down in San Clemente for the day and stopped into Artifex and were very happy with the choice.
The tasting room is a little on the small side, but they do have a nice patio. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this brewery. The staff was very friendly, happy to talk about their beers.
We really enjoyed the beers and the brewery. I also appreciate that they were so willing to share a new brewery in the area that we should try.
Had a great time and highly recommend a visit or two.

Like many microbreweries I have been to, Artifex is located in an industrial area but the setting makes it nice and quiet. They have some picnic style tables and a canopy set up in the parking lot remnant from Covid days which make a nice place to sit down and have a beer. The selection seemed a little IPA heavy for my tastes but I was able to find a couple that I really enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and helpful in making selections.

Been here many times. Of the local breweries, this one's the smallest, but definitely has the best beer. Friendly service, food trucks available most days - check out the tacos and burritos on Sundays and Thursdays.
They have a large selection of IPA's. My favorites right now are the Hazy IPA's AKA New England IPA - Biscuits & Gravy, Orange You Different, Aeoteara.
If you are not into hops, the Bog Trotter, an Irish Red is very good, has a great finish to it. The will pour you a taste of anything, but your best bet if you are visiting the first time is to get a flight, and ask for suggestions, they are very knowledgeable about their beers.

Loved the beer at Artifex and the folks working the taproom were super nice. Taproom is a little tight inside but has some space to sit outside as well. Seems to havea food truck just outside most of the time.

My daughter and I only had one beer here because Mom was waiting back at the resort, and we were running out of time. We did see our new friend, Ethan, who we met at Lost Winds a few minutes before, and we sat with him and talked. He is a great guy, and the beer I had here was very good. So I enjoyed my time here a lot. If I'm ever back in the area (from NC), I will definitely stop in again to sample more of their brews.

Great vibe and great staff. Beer was creative and varied. Totally enjoyed it and will be back! Simple to find and located in a low traffic area off Avenida Pico. We went around 8PM. Food truck was serving fresh poke. Very good food to go with our beer. The red was my favorite brew.

I really like the brews from Artifex - the place is not fancy but it is comfortable. Kind of what you want from a brewery. We frequently grab a sandwich from Board and Brew or a pizza from Blaze and take it with us. They have a great red ale and love their seasoned darks (HoliDave). You can get half growlers which is a nice size for a couple of folks.

Great local taproom with some very good and interesting beers across the whole spectrum. I even tried the unicorn juice and was impressed. They have a nice little patio to relax on and typically have a variety of local food truck that park out front. I usually call ahead and ask what truck is visiting that day and what times they will be there.
