It's a pier, of course, with the usual pier activities. Fishermen have their poles in the water and people are strolling up and down. What sets this pier apart from many of the others I've visited is the spectacular views, both of the ocean, and the look back toward the land. There were a few surfers out when we visited... More

We ended up here because a hiking trail was closed down the road. We stopped off and were surprised by the beauty and tranquility of the area. Gorgeous homes and overnight accommodations. Very charming. Great beach and trails along in which to walk We stayed here all afternoon and really enjoyed the peacefulness of the area. There is a great... More

Quite a nice place. Closeby parking available which is free after 6pm on weekday. There are fisherman who fish with fishing rods and pull out fishes onto the pier which some may find disturbing. Restaurant with good food on the pier.

People at the pier were very friendly. The view was fantastic! Beautiful sunset. Plenty of places to walk, restaurants, bar & pub. Prices reasonable.

The San Clemente pier dates from 1928. Vicious storms damaged it in 1938 and 1983, forcing it to be rebuilt. The pier is nearly 1,300 feet long, about 550 feet shorter than the county's most picturesque pier north at Huntington Beach.
