Visited from the UK and stayed in a hotel right near the park. The quickest route for me to walk into the city was along the banks of the river which I believe form part of the park. There are a lot of homeless people living in the bushes/trees/sidewalks and the whole place feels very unloved. I understand that it's... More

We were just there for the Aftershock rock festival so this review is centered around the park as a place to see a show. First off, the place is huge. I have enjoyed two group barbeques in Discovery Park. It is a great area to work out in,play games,or ride a bike. I see it as a viable short cut when necesary.

During the summer you can swim and their is a boat ramp to launch your boat, park personal are there to take your money. Free entry if you are riding your bike, my kind of entry. This is the beginning of the... More

I walked up Jibboom Street to Discovery Park. It is a quaint little park less than half a mile from the hotel I stayed in. You actually walk across an iron bridge over the river (don't look down). You can use the boat launch. It is a beautiful view at sunset.

If it's not on fire a fine place to visit. BUT PLEASE, if you are going into the river wear a lifejacket. So many drownings this year Most would be preventable with a life vest.
