Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If your in the mood and your favorite band is playing at this Auditorium, Go! It’s a fun place. Plenty of room, I didn’t feel cramped and the seating was roomy. Prices we sweet. I would highly recommend seeing a show here.

My high school chose to have my graduation here. I have lived in Sacramento my whole life, but never actually went inside. This place really is fantastic; great acoustics. Nothing like Arco Arena (Or whatever they call it now) and centrally located in Downtown Sacramento.

Central location, near good restaurants. Small bathrooms for the amount of people attending a graduation.

An older place to go for concerts and entertainment. The folding chairs used for the floor rows are tiny and not very comfortable to sit for long.

I went to a Gala Dinner at the Memorial Auditorium recently and was impressed by the venue. It was quite nostalgic and had charm. The acoustics were quite good given the age of the venue. It is amazing to see the posters of the various acts that have performed over the decades.

Came here for an opening session to a conference and this auditorium is very beautiful on the inside. All around Sacramento you can find beautiful architecture such as this auditorium. I recommend seeing a play or just taking pictures on its great steps.

We had seats in the back row for "Home For The Holidays". From that height you can take in the whole spectacle and the sound comes through quite clear. The top tier is not a place for the disabled as there are no hand rails. We came early and found a parking spot 1/2 a block from the auditorium. There are quite a few good restaurants around this venue and we had a very good meal at Luccas. The Memorial Auditorium is definitely worth taking a look at for its historical architecture.

This is an architechtual gem in Sacramento that almost met its demise because of eqarthquake safety standaards. Built sometime in the late 20's, this is a magnificant old auditorium that has seen everything from presidential candidates, the Beach Boys to boxing.
It you can get inside do so...but just make sure you at least do a drive by to ogle this fine old downtown dame.

This auditorium was restored about ten years ago, and I am so thankful that our city had the for-site to fund it! "The Memorial" as we call it, has housed countless concerts, graduations, events of all kinds for something like 60 years. When the gorgeous Alhambra Theater was torn down to make way for a supermarket (a crime) my family was worried that other valuable Sacramento landmarks would follow suit.
Thankfully, the Memorial got her face lift, and is one the best things, besides the State Capitol and the Governor's Mansion, to happen in the downtown area.

Have attended jazz concerts and more recently high school graduations. Excellent facility for these uses. With its renovation, the facility is in great shape. Our school has used it for its graduations the past two years, graduating about 160 each time. A wonderful venue for this type of event - easy to see the graduates, good acoustics and seats.

What is the bag policy? Clear bags only like in many other public venues?

Are Memorial Auditorium and the Convention Center at the same location? They seem to have the same address.

I saw B.B. King and Bobby "Blue" Bland in concert at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in the late 70's or early 80's, but there is no record of this event ever happening there. I have checked numerous sites, including the B.B. King Official Site and sites for Bobby "Blue" Bland, but still nothing. I know I am not loosing my mind, I was there. There is another concert I saw there in the late 60's, but there is no record of it either, Blue Cheer. Somebody tell me I am not loosing it.
