This is a nice place to take a walk. This park contains the capitol, a rose garden, a veterans memorial, and more. During the weekdays, office workers in suits and sneakers exercise / walk here. It's quieter during the weekends unless there are organized events. Don't forget to go inside the capitol. It is opened everyday.

We took a nice walk in Capitol Park in Sacramento. We also went after dinner again to see the Christmas tree for 2016 lit up. It was pretty., There was also a Monorah.

Beautiful grounds, lovely care is taken with the topiary. Nice for an afternoon stroll with the capital in the background.

If you like to walk the park is specious and appears to encircle the State Capitol Building. Go inside and see the Victorian interior and the magnificent display of rare books from the vault.

Because we stayed at a hotel across the street we took advantage of the beautiful park surrounding the CA State Capitol. It is a perfect place for a leisurely walk (the outer circumference is almost exactly a mile) at almost any time of the day. There are wonderful trees, flowers, statues and pieces of art to be enjoyed, all surrounding... More

Beautiful Peace Rose Garden; war memorial, Mercy Nuns memorial. Lots of benches and good people watching in the park. Don't feed the squirrels - Please! Occasional raccoons at night.

Every time we are in town (monthly) I make sure there is time to make the one mile loop around the capitol and the lawns and the beautiful gardens.

We took some friends from out of state to see the Capitol and the adjacent Park. We were so glad the drought was over and the gardens were flourishing again. The Vietnam & Firefighters Memorial are quite impressive. There is an abundance of trees from all over the world. We always love the rose garden. The only draw back are... More

The Capital grounds are perhaps the nicest capital grounds I've explored. You are walking through a botanical garden, enhanced with a war memorial, a firefighter memorial and a peace officer memorial. Every tree that grows in this state is on display here, from Japane olive trees, blue spruce, to the giant redwoods (that suffer in the pollution) and some impressive... More

We walked around the park several days during our trip.We enjoyed the most the firefighter memorial. There were quite a bit of homeless people throughout the park. The second day we saw a large presence of police officers in cars and on bikes. I actually asked if we should be concerned about coming to the park that day, since it... More
