My wife and I enjoy visiting the zoo, and seeing all of the animals. The zoo has special events throughout the year. Star Wars day was a lot of fun. During the summer there is the ice cream safari which is a lot of fun. We have gone there on those nights past few years.

Once you've been to the Bronx Zoo and San Diego Zoos. Sac's just doesn't stand up. It's small and the animals don't seem...happy. There are plenty of furry, slimy, slithering critters to make the kids eyes bug out like the Giraffes, lions and more. So it is a really good family outing and a must do. Funny monkey story: While... Sac zoo is my ultimate favorite zoo w small children! It's the perfect size, not too big but big enough for a fun visit with lots of different animals to see! Make sure to check out Land Park nearby for a picnic and a walk through the WPA rock garden. That whole area right there is beautiful!

Never met a zoo I didn't like! Parking can be a challenge if the tiny lot across the street is full...and it usually is because it serves the zoo, fairytale town, and the huge park/golf course. You will have to wind through the park streets and find space along the curb, when you finally get in, Flamingos are in front... More

It's the Sac zoo, better than the Folsom zoo. Go early as possible, that's when the animals are out and about the most. Look for a Groupon and you can get a family of 4 in for around $25. It's worth about a 4 hour visit in the AM, then head to Land Park and have lunch at Dad's Kitchen... More

I hadn't been to the zoo in years. It hasn't changed much. Parking can be difficult to find so get there early if you can. It has a decent variety of animals for a small zoo and there are plenty of trees to stay out of the sun.

Not the biggest zoo I've been to, but the size is great for young children and exhibits are interesting.

Summer park concerts, ice cream safari, Boo at the Zoo, they make it a fun place to be year round. The animals are very well cared for and the exhibits appear as natural as possible.

Can't fault the zoology, however, this is a smallish zoo. A couple of hours and you're done. We used a ticket that gave one of us free admission, otherwise it would have been $30 to get in. The cafés are nothing special. We didn't eat there but paid nearly $4 for a small bottle of water, which gives you an... More

We love this zoo, I've been going since I was a kid. (Ahem, so basically 20+ years.) We can't wait to go again! Definitely bring sunblock if you go in the summer months and be prepared for needing a lot of water. The food there is pretty good as well!
