Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery, consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, we farm our five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

My wife and I had planned on stopping by the Grgich Estate beforehand. We were primarily interested in the Chardonnay as this is what won the 1976 Paris blind test (Grgich was the winemaker). We ordered the second wine sampling pack without doing too much analysis. We enjoyed the sampling and the staff was great. You can waive the sampling... More

We arrived before opening hours and watched the grapes that were picked the night before being unloaded and sorted...what fun. There were half barrels set out for grape stomping later in the morning. We had visited a Grgich Winery in Croatia so wanted to see this one as well...very friendly staff.

Thank you for your visit and glad you you were able to see some of the harvest with us. We appreciate you visiting both Grgic Vina in Croatia and our winery in the US. Cheers! More

We only came here as they were the only place still doing any grape stomping. Knew it would be a novelty, but surprisingly low value. Paid $40 each and the bucket we stomped in was mostly already crushed grapes. No new grapes were put in but that may have been because they were running low. Essentially we got our feet... More

Thank you for your visit. We were very surprised that you didn’t enjoy your stomping experience and that you paid forty dollars. We’ve had a great, positive response on our stomp experience, which is $30 and includes the shirt you place your feet on to have a memento plus a GoVino glass and a tasting of one of our Napa... So fun to stomp Grapes!! T-shot with grape stained footprints included with stomp. Wine with stomp was better Thani thought it would be. We were able to wander the vineyards after stomping while we sipped and tasted different grapes. Fun!

Our seven year-old daughter was with us for a visit to Grgich Hills Estate and our entire family enjoyed the experience here. We all sampled the grapes and appreciated the warm and friendly staff. We then all enjoyed the opportunity to stomp on grapes. It was a really fun experience along with the wonderful education we got about the rich... More

The wines are very good. The service was excellent. Linda took very good care of us. She taught us a lot about wine and made the whole experience a highlight of our trip. The entire staff seemed like one big family. We will definitely be coming back here.

Very touristy, did grape stomping , fun. But very touristy. Should give a better wine while waiting, would be more inclined to do more tasting inside.

We decided to do the grape stomping that was $30 for a chance to play a "I love lucy" scene. Then you got to put your footprints on a t-shirt to take home with you. I thought it was gross for people had been in the bin before us with their stinky feet and they only added a few grapes... More

Nice wines to taste but service was not that good...they were very busy and each staff member had too many people to serve and explain the wines. Were disappointed as we enjoy their wines very much. Better luck next time!
