If you love history this little bit of history about the native Americans in our area is really interesting and to realize they lived here and enjoyed the creek and open space at that time. They have done a wonderful job at presenting the history of the Maidu people and the tour is interesting to go on. They have this... More

This well maintained museum and grounds has many displays of the native inhabitants before the invasion of the white immigrants. There is also information about the relocation of thousands of natives throughout the West. The interpretive trail offers a rare view of petroglyphs right in the middle of Roseville. Well worth a stop and all can be seen in less... More

I love this place! The small museum is dedicated to the local Maidu indians. It is modern and clean (i.e., not stuffy & dusty) and informative. There is artwork from various tribes displayed as well. There is also an outdoor trail where one can do a self-guided tour of the land where the Indians actually lived, and survived off the... More

Best Maidu culture center around to include books, the museum, and outdoor sites with grinding rocks and petroglyphs.

The Maidu Interpretive Museum is a great place to learn about local native American tribes, their culture, and their history in the area. It is a wonderful place to take your school age children to learn and enjoy. It is very well kept and full of images, maps, and examples of tribal culture. On Fridays they have a marshmallow roast... This little jewel is a showcase of Maidu history. I also attended the opening of an exhibit of prints by local indigenous artists & enjoyed hearing from local artists. There is a trail on the grounds which includes petroglyphs and & small creek shaded by oaks. A tiny gift store carries jewelry by local artists. The Maidu Museum is well... More

I went as a fieldtrip chaperone for my son's third-grade class and expected to be mildly interested. In fact, it was a great trip for kids and adults alike! Lots to learn inside about the history of the Maidu tribe. And outdoors, be sure to take a walking tour through woods and creeks to see animal tracks, historic structures, grinding... More
