Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice once you get to the top. We went for a Good Friday Service. Luckily the church offered Golf Cart Shuttle up to the top. I do not think my group could have made the hike up! Maybe I could but I would have to train for this! People take kids and pets and its nice once you get to the top. But be prepared, train for this it is not easy especially for out of shape, elderly, handicapped, or even taking up strollers!! The questions below ask is it good for picnics, family, big groups, if you are prepared. If you take food can you carry food and make this hike? Be prepared!

A popular place to hike in Riverside. Not difficult but challenging. However there are many people with dogs that are not on a leash. Constantly avoiding intrusive dogs. Not everyone loves dogs so keep them from annoying other people. The other issue is parking. There is a parking lot at Ryan Bonaminio Park with safe and close access to the trailhead. There is also parking at Carlson Park with easy access. Parking in other peoples neighborhood is not a very good option. I parked in a neighborhood off of Mission Inn Ave and came back to my car to find a note that basically pointed out to me that it was not a parking lot and that the people living in the area did not appreciate all the noise, litter and obstruction of the roadway. I was not insulted as I had lived in a similar situation before moving to So. Cal. I was constantly irritated that although I lived there I was unable to park on many occasions due to other people who did not live in the area taking up all the parking spots. I have always used Ryan Bonaminio Park since then and I am sure the residents would appreciate you making a small effort by parking there and not in their neighborhood. Other than that I use the park every week and mostly enjoy it. There is sometimes a lot of dog feces.

This park is very well maintained and was an absolute joy to explore. I was in the area for a business trip and I had a 5 hour break so I decided to hike to the summit and it turned out to be the highlight of my trip. The views are breathtaking and the entire path is paved. When I got to the top there were some locations where you could go off the path safely. Take a look at my pics and you'll see why this hike is worth the trip!

One of my favorite local hiking spots!!!! I love Mt. Rubidoux and have been coming since I was a kid, it’s a relaxing hike with a difficult and easy trail. I’ve personally never had issues with anyone’s dogs or excessive poop left behind. Last time I was there it was partially closed for maintenance of the trails. Hopefully when I go back it’s fully open.

So much dog poop it’s really laughable. All the way up and all the way down you will see it, and many looked fresh, Some were human sized.
Because of the amount of dog poo there is now an unreal amount of flies. Really sad that the people literally let the trail go to crap.

We didn't know where we were walking. There were many students and parents went to the top of this mount.
My wife and I liked that. We like hiking.
We enjoyed the cacti I like that.
Everyone were happy.
They ended at the cross. It was truly huge.
We had beautiful view from here.
Yes there were trees, cacti, a tower and a bridge.
However the most people came here went to the cross.
The US flag was there as well.
There was a tower.
I will remember all these people at the cross. Wow!
A must see!

We started early. There were several schools. There was a lot of people. They came here for the whole day. We went walking to the tip of the mountains.
We have seen so many beautiful views.
Once at the top, there was a huge cross. Everybody went there first.
There was a tower as well and two bridges.
It took us at least 3 hours.
This is a must see!
P.S. The boulders were attractive!
I would like to go back there.

I had read some prior reviews with complaints of dog poop. So, to start off, yes, there was dog poop on the trail but not more than most trails I've been on that allows dogs. It was not "everywhere" and not a distraction to the hike. Probably need to blame the adjacent dog park to the trail! Overall great trail and just the right difficulty. We used the non-improved trailhead which afforded a somewhat more challenging hike but certainly still easily completed by the novice hiker. Views tremendous and is what makes the hike a must do.

My Besty and myself love the trail, but I must agree with the comment saying, it should be called dog poop trail. There’s dog bags available, but sadly most people don’t give a (crap). 🥺

I’ve climbed Mount Rubidoux at least a dozen times and I’ve only had one bad experience. Parking isn’t ideal and thieves know you will take a few hours to return so I strongly advise get a ride and get picked up. I once had my key lock popped but fortunately they didn’t steal the car and I had nothing of value inside my car. Bring a few bottles of water and a snack as there is no food for purchase. I have seen a snake once but other than that, the place is completely safe. You can only be there during light and you could get a ticket if there after dark. The views are gorgeous and the climb to the cross at the top is very relaxing until you get right near the top and the steps are pretty steep. The climb is very doable and I’m a big guy. My wife got a little winded but she’s not used to any exercise lol!

Where is the entry (entries) to the trail(s)?
Written 20 March 2018
There are two entries. One is on 9th Street and the other is on Glenwood Drive. Best parking is at Ryan Bonaminio Park. Walk up Glenwood to entry.

when did this get paved Gary? I'm trying to look online but don't see an answer
Written 22 January 2018
There is the paved road and then there are paved paths and some paths that are not paved. The paved road is used at the 4th of July to get fireworks and firetrucks up the hill.
Written 23 January 2018
Yes, it is open to the public everyday, every holiday. I walk it very often. Dogs allowed (on leash) and there is also a park at the bottom of the hill to park. Very nice area and safe as well. I live in the area.
