I've been looking for the UCR tripadvisor spot, but I haven't found it anywhere. That's why I post my review here. I spent the whole summer of 94 studying at UCR's extension and found its professors and facilities amazing.

Great place to get away from the city and learn a little about the local plants here in Riverside as well as others. I love the turtle pond and the cactus garden.

The trail map makes the gardens look bigger than they are. They are easily explored in a couple of hours - longer if you stop to take pictures like I did. Nice variety of plants. The rose garden was in full bloom with many types of roses. I enjoyed watching the turtles in the pond. The butterfly garden was quite... More

It's not super clean like a Fairmount Park, but more like a jungle and that flair is actually positive ! Trails are often very steep !

I am a UCR alumni and I go to the botanic gardens all the time. There are endless walking trails to explore because it is huge. You can easily spend an entire afternoon wandering through the beautiful hillsides.

Great place to walk. It is also educational for those interested in Botany, since many of the plants are labeled so you know what to ask for at the garden center. And if the garden center can't get it, then go to one of their plant sales in the Spring or Fall.

Best to visit from opening at 8 am to about 11, before the heat. Great walks amid succulents as well as flowering shrubs and towering trees. Lots of hummingbirds, and other birds enjoying the mulberries, if in season. Range goes from easy walking to dry climbing, with well marked trails. Great views of Riverside

Great grounds, beautiful benches and gazebos. Very large fun to explore all the hiking trails. Great view of the city if you hike up the mountain. I was not that impressed with the flowers and plants but I think it was because it was in January. Only have to pay for parking and recommended donation.

Beautiful grounds, hills, hardscape, and many plants over many acres. Drive right on campus and follow signs to gardens. Park right in front of entrance. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks.

My son had to do a project for his college class so we went here and I was surprised by all the different types of plants and trees there were. We actually had a good time walking around. There were 3 of us so we split up and went in different directions so we could later share what each of... More
