Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came to the Fox to see a great performance and discussion with the legendary band Los Lobos. The auditorium is an old, grand movie palace, and overall, it's a really nice venue. Parking is reasonable and easy, right behind the theater (enter on Fairmount Blvd), and it's next door to a trendy food hall.
Unfortunately, its operator, Live Nation, leaves much to be desired. First off, the show time was advertised as 7:00 PM, however, the show time on the digital ticket was 6:00 PM. After thinking I was going to be late, I rushed to get there, and found out it was indeed a 7:00 PM start. However, the show didn't actually begin until almost 7:30!
During the performance, there were numerous patrons who started recording video. I understand the venue wanting to squash that, but there were several instances where security made me get up so they could pass through my row (when a few rows behind were completely empty) in order to tell people to put away their phones.
To add insult to injury, the sound was poorly mixed the entire evening, with instruments overpowering vocals almost the entire time. Overall, this is a nice, classic venue, but its operation is basically amateur hour. For all the fees Live Nation charges, you would expect a much more professional experience.

At the Beautiful Carol King show. All information (tickets, ads) have only one time - 7:00 pm. Assumed this was show time. Apparently not correct- only open theatre doors at 7 and show at 8. Now have to stand for over an hour. They need to straighten up there act (no pun intended)

The Fox PAC is a smaill theater. All seats have a good view of the stage. FYI: Doors open at 7pm. Shows starts approx 9pm. During the pandemic the Fox PAC is only serving Popcorn. Best to have dinner before arriving at the Fox PAC. Save your money, and purchase the General Admission tickets. Currently during the pandemic there are no real perks for VIP tickets. Do not waist your money on VIP tickets

Great historic venue, beautiful inside but the acoustics are terrible! Singer spoke to her audience and we all kept looking at each other wondering what she said. Her singing was beautiful but again the acoustic was awful. Wouldn’t go back for a concert.

Medium-sized venue just right for a solo performer. Easy check-in, helpful ushers. Background music before performance started was much too loud and interefered with conversation.

My granddaughter and I attended Celtic Woman last night and it was gorgeous, the theater and the music. I planned for parking in advance and found that the multi story garage, Riverside Garage, next to the Fox Theater at 3701 Fairmount Boulevard is super convenient. TIP: If you enter before 5 p.m. take a ticket and park. If you leave the structure before 5 pm you pay posted rates. If you stay for the evening as we did, there is no attendant after 5 or 6 and they don't charge you. This was explained to us by the attendant who says its complimentary as long as you leave in the evening--nice.

Recently attended a Boz Scaggs concert at the Fox. I was happy to see this beautiful building was preserved and renovated. We had seen its' sad state on previous visits to Mission Inn. So glad the city realized it is a treasure . The interior has an intricate, painted ceiling and what must be original, metal fold-down seats. The seats do get a bit uncomfortable after awhile- glad we could stand up every now and then during concert. Have to agree with the comment about the over-zealous ushers and not allowing non-flash photos. Half expected to get my phone confiscated!! Saw this happen to many people! Sorry, realize you are volunteer ushers but lighten up. (Actually, seemed to be the same over-zealous lady who swooped in on everyone.) The Fox has added many items to its' schedule which is great. Didn't check out the wine bar so I didn't see that tee-shirts/CDs available for purchase :( There is a parking structure available and city just added a pedestrian crossing light at the end of block. Ticket purchasing a bit antiquated: phone orders or walk-up ticketbox for some presale. There must be one (?) person handling the phone because there is no "waiting" on hold. You get a message and need to hang up and keep calling until you get lucky. They now offer ticketing through Ticketmaster. Riverside, like every city, has a homeless population that frequents the downtown area. One guy was making comments to "all the rich people enjoying the concert" as patrons walked down the sidewalk. Unfortunate. Hope to see the Fox continue to provide entertainment.

fox performing arts center is a beautifully preserved/restored/repurposed fox movie theater from the golden age of movies. it now hosts music, dance, Broadway touring companies (we just saw Rodgers' and Hammerstein's Cinderella there.), and more! in its movie heyday, it was the site of a number of Hollywood sneak previews where the principals could observe a real audience reaction to their product (Gone With the Wind, inter alia) before the official premiere. the theater itself is a treat and the bookings are high quality. a number of nearby food and drink options for pre- or post-attendance allow for a full evening out.

This is a lovely restored theater in the heart of Riverside. My 3rd year here for a ballet recital. The seats are comfy for the 2 plus hour performance. Be prepared to pay a high price for beverages but other than that this is a fabulous theater.

This venue is a beautiful historic theater. Thanks to all the people who brought it back to life! If you're into history & architecture, I suggest you read up on it's story...it made me appreciate it even more. Went for the first time to see a sold out show and the staff managed the crowd well. Really easy to get in & out of, great sound & seats, full bar...loved it! Sat in the 9th row but it's not huge so it felt pretty intimate. Plus, it's in a walking district with bars & restaurants nearby so we enjoyed the nightlife after the show. We'll be back!

I would think that depends on the event you are attending. We have been to popular music concerts and folks are dressed in many differ the ways, but pretty casual.

Is there free WiFi at the fox perform it arts center ?

I have no idea. Since it is a live performance theater I would doubt it. The only purpose I could see would be to illegally video the performance.
